The contrast between places, people, and experiences helped shape the introspective perspective that defines much of his music today.
Across releases such as Living Fast Dying Young, Wake Up, and Even Flames Dim Out, he transforms personal reflection into melody while exploring themes of isolation, identity, emotional distance, and self-discovery.

A: I got the name “Flash” from my mom and stepdad because I used to be fast.
A: There were already a lot of people with the name Flash, so I changed it by dropping the “A” and replacing it with an “X” to make it my own.
